High-Resolution VUV Spectroscopy
High-resolution VUV spectroscopy is essential for the precise determination
of atomic and molecular constants, which are fundamental to most physical
research.
A high resolution spectroscopic facility (6-VOPE), which consists
of a zero-dispersion-type tandem concave grating predisperser system
and a 6.65-m vertical dispersion off-plane Eagle spectrometer,
was constructed. A high-resolution
(l/Dl ~ 2.5x105)
photoabsorption
spectrogram of Ne near its ionization threshold is shown as a typical
example by 6-VOPE. From the observed term values, the first ionization
potentials were precisely determined.
