BL-6A: Small-angle X-ray scattering
BL-6A is designed for small angle X-ray scattering. A vertical focusing mirror is installed at the beamline in order to obtain a beam with high photon flux while eliminating higher energy X-rays in the beam. The mirror chamber located at 10.0 m is maintained in a high vacuum so as to keep the mirror surface clean. The ULE plane mirror has a 1.1-m-long reflecting surface. A synchrotron radiation beam is focused by the mirror at a glancing angle of 3.0 mrad. A curved monochromator for a horizontal focusing is installed at 12.2 m in the vacuum monochromator chamber. Triangular germanium (111) crystal with the asymmetric angle of 8.0 degree is used as the monochromator crystal for an optimum focusing of the beam. Three cross slit system are aligned on the beamline so as to confine parasitic scattering inside the beam stop. The sample-to-detector distance can be changed between 0.25 and 2.5 m. The small angle X-ray scattering resolution reaches ~100 nanometer at the distance of 2.5 m.
