Soft X-Ray XAFS Station at PF

Selection Guide for Soft X-Ray Station for XAFS Measurements ( < 4 keV)

There are many experimental stations available at the Photon Factory that can measure XAFS spectra in the soft X-ray region (BL-9A can also provide X-rays down to 2.1 keV). Among them, only three stations are introduced here. Detail description of each station is linked from the name of the station. Please refer to Hard X-ray XAFS stations and the top page of PF Experimental Stations for other beamlines.

BL-11B

1.72 - 5 keV soft X rays from a bending-magnet source are available by a double-crystal monochromator.

It is suitable to measure EXAFS spectra on Si, P, S, Cl, Ar, K abd Ca K-edges.

BL-11A

70 - 1900 eV soft X rays from a bending-magnet source are available by a grazing-incidence monochromator.

EXAFS spectra on B, C, N, O, F, Ne, Na, Mg, Al K-egdes can be measured.

Major optical components will be replaced in March, 2014.
