Commissioning of the new Photon Factory storage ring

The 2.5-GeV Photon Factory storage ring was reconstructed to the low-emittance lattice configuration.
The new PF ring was successfully commissioned in October, 1997.

• Review of the commissioning (Oct. 1 - Nov. 3, 1997)

Recent machine status

• November 4-7 : User run started on November 4.
• November 8-14 : User run.
  We succeeded to store the beam under the new low-emittance optics on November 10.
• November 15-21: User run.
  We succeeded to store the beam current of 150 mA under the low-emittance optics on Nov. 17.
• November 22-30: User run.
  We succeeded to store the beam current of 400 mA under the new optics (90 and 105 degrees) on Nov. 24.
• December 1-7: User run. Tuning on the low-emittance optics (105 deg./cell) was carried out on Dec. 1.
• December 8-14: User run. Study on the low-emittance optics was carried out on Dec. 8.
• December 15-21: User run. Study on the low-emittance optics was carried out on Dec. 15.
• December 22-24: User run.
